A beautifully patterned pleco found throughout Brazil’s Rio Negro, the L168 Butterfly Pleco or Brazil Butterfly Pleco inhabits warm, acidic blackwater areas in the wild. In the aquarium, they are hardy and adaptable, but will do best in relatively soft water and when given plenty of driftwood or other hides. They should be offered a varied diet including fresh veggies, sinking prepared foods, and gel diets like Repahy’s Soylent Green or Bottom Scratcher.
