The Dwarf Puffer, also referred to as the Bumblebee, Malabar, or Pygmy Puffer, is a notably smaller member of its family, growing to a maximum length of just 1 inch. Its coloring consists of golden-brown on its back that fades to an off white on its belly and is covered in dark brown to black spots. The male of this species has a leaner build and a distinct black stripe running from its tail to its pectoral fin.
The Dwarf Pea Puffer is a freshwater fish that thrives in planted aquariums of at least 30 gallons. With their need for no salt content and plenty of hiding places, they make for a low-maintenance addition to any aquarium. Note: only one male per aquarium recommended unless it is a large system.
