Introducing New Fish
Size

The Cochu Blue Tetra (Boehlkea fredcochui) is a striking and energetic freshwater tetra best known for its vivid electric blue coloration and bold black horizontal stripe. Native to South America, this species adds intense colour and movement to community aquariums.

Cochu Blue Tetras are more active and slightly more assertive than many small tetras, making them best suited to well-planned community tanks with similarly sized, fast-moving tank mates. When kept in proper groups, they display confident schooling behaviour and strong colour contrast.

Physical Characteristics

  • Adult Size: Approximately 5–6 cm (2–2.5 inches)

  • Coloration: Bright metallic blue body with a distinct black lateral stripe

  • Body Shape: Slender, streamlined tetra profile
