Botia Dario Bengal Loach
This species can be found in the middle to lower Ganges and Brahmaputra river drainages in northern India, Bangladesh, and Bhutan. Limited data is available, but it is believed to primarily inhabit river environments. Given that some of its habitat is among the most humid regions in the world, it is likely that this species has migratory patterns.
While Botia spp. appear to be chiefly carnivorous they will also eat vegetative matter if available, often including soft-leaved aquatic plants. The natural diet comprises aquatic molluscs, insects, worms, and other invertebrates.
