Albino Threadfin Acara
Acarichthys Heckelii are found parts of the Amazon basin in Colombia, Peru and Brazil including lower parts of the ríos Putumayo, Trombetas, Negro, Xingu, Tocantins, Capim and Branco River plus the Essequibo drainage in Guyana.
Sexually mature females should be noticeably thicker-bodied than males.
Diet:
This species does not sift sand like some related species, rather spending much its time in midwater. Most foods are accepted but a varied diet is essential for it to develop the best condition and colour. Omnivore and are most unfussy in terms of feeding. Frozen, live and dried foods are all accepted. It also relishes vegetable matter in the form of shelled peas, cucumber etc., which it will rasp at with the teeth in its lower jaw.
